കാറ്റമരന് വെഞ്ചേഴ്സും ആമസോണ് ഇന്ത്യയും ചേര്ന്നു രൂപം നല്കിയ സംയുക്ത സംരംഭമായ പ്രിയോണ് ബിസിനസ് സര്വീസസ് ആമസോണിന്റെ ഭക്ഷ്യ വിതരണ ബിസിനസ് ശൃംഖലയിലേക്കു ലിസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്യുന്നതിന് നിരവധി ബ്രാന്ഡുകളുമായി കരാറുകളില് ഒപ്പുവെച്ചു കഴിഞ്ഞു. ബംഗളൂരുവിലെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത ഭാഗങ്ങളില് പരീക്ഷണാടിസ്ഥാനത്തില് പ്രവര്ത്തനം തുടങ്ങി. സോമാറ്റോയും സ്വിഗ്ഗിയും കിഴിവുകള് വെട്ടിക്കുറച്ച സമയത്താണ് ഭക്ഷ്യ വിതരണ വ്യാപാരത്തില് ആമസോണിന്റെ പ്രവേശനം. 10 വര്ഷം മുമ്പു സ്ഥാപിതമായ സോമാറ്റോ ജനുവരിയില് ഏകദേശം 18 കോടി ഡോളറിനാണ് ഇന്ത്യയില് ഊബറിന്റെ ഭക്ഷ്യ വിതരണ വ്യാപാരം സ്വന്തമാക്കിയത്. 100 കോടി ഡോളര് ഇന്ത്യയില് നിക്ഷേപിക്കാന് ആമസോണ് പദ്ധതിയിടുന്നതായി കഴിഞ്ഞ മാസം ന്യൂഡല്ഹിയില് നടന്ന പരിപാടിയില് ജെഫ് ബെസോസ് വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയിരുന്നു.
