കോവിഡ് 19 പ്രതിരോധ പ്രവര്ത്തനത്തിനായി മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയുടെ ദുരിതാശ്വാസ നിധിയിലേക്ക് കേരള ക്രിക്കറ്റ് അസോസിയേഷന് 50 ലക്ഷം രൂപ നല്കും. കേന്ദ്ര സര്ക്കാരിന് നല്കിയ 50 ലക്ഷത്തിന് പുറമെയാണ് കേരള ക്രിക്കറ്റ് അസോസിയേഷന് ദുരിതാശ്വാസ നിധിയിലേക്ക് സംഭാവന നല്കുന്നത്. ബിസിസിഐ ജോയിന്റ് സെക്രട്ടറി ജയേഷ് ജോര്ജ്, കേരള ക്രിക്കറ്റ് അസോസിയേഷന് ഭാരവാഹികള്, ജില്ലാ ക്രിക്കറ്റ് അസോസിയേഷന് സെക്രട്ടറിമാര് എന്നിവര് ചേര്ന്ന് നടത്തിയ ചര്ച്ചയിലാണ് തീരുമാനം.
ജില്ലാ ക്രിക്കറ്റ് അസോസിയേഷന് ഓരോ ലക്ഷം രൂപ വീതം നല്കും, കൂടാതെ ക്രിക്കറ്റ് കളിക്കാര്, മുന് താരങ്ങള്, ഒഫീഷ്യലുകള്, ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥര് ക്രിക്കറ്റ് അസോസിയേഷനുമായി സഹകരിക്കുന്നവര് എന്നിവരില് നിന്നും സഹായം തേടും. പ്രളയകാലത്തും കേരള ക്രിക്കറ്റ് അസോസിയേഷന് ഇത്തരത്തില് 65 ലക്ഷം രൂപ സമാഹരിച്ച് സര്ക്കാരിന് നല്കിയിരുന്നു. സംസ്ഥാന സര്ക്കാര് നടത്തുന്ന കോവിഡ് പ്രതിരോധ പ്രവര്ത്തനത്തില് കേരള ക്രിക്കറ്റ് അസോസിയേഷനും, ജില്ലാ ക്രിക്കറ്റ് അസോസിയേഷനുകളും ഭാഗമാകുമെന്ന് കേരള ക്രിക്കറ്റ് അസോസിയേഷന് പ്രസിഡന്റ് സജന് കെ വര്ഗീസ്, സെക്രട്ടറി അഡ്വ ശ്രീജിത്ത് വി നായര് ബിസിസിഐ ജോയിന്റ് സെക്രട്ടറി ജയേഷ് ജോര്ജ് എന്നിവര് അറിയിച്ചു.
