കൊവിഡ്19 വൈറസ് അത്രപെട്ടന്ന് ഭൂമിയില് നിന്ന് അപ്രത്യക്ഷമാകില്ലെന്ന് ലോകാരോഗ്യ സംഘടനയുടെ മുന്നറിയിപ്പ്. ഭുരിഭാഗം രാജ്യങ്ങളും വൈറസിനെതിരായ പ്രതിരോധത്തില് ആദ്യഘട്ടത്തിലാണ്. കൊവിഡ് നിയന്ത്രണ വിധേയമെന്ന് കരുതിയ പല രാജ്യങ്ങളിലും അത് തിരിച്ചെത്തി. ഇത് സൂചിപ്പിക്കുന്നത് വൈറസ് ദീര്ഘകാലത്തേക്ക് ഗ്രഹത്തിലുണ്ടാവുമെന്നാണ് ലോകാരോഗ്യ സംഘടന ഡയറ്കടര് ജനറല് ടെഡ്രോസ് ആദാനം ഗബ്രിയാസിസ് പറഞ്ഞു.
അമേരിക്കയിലും ആഫ്രിക്കയിലുമെല്ലാം കൊവിഡ് രോഗികളുടെ എണ്ണം കുതിച്ചുയരുകയാണ്. ആഗോള അടിയന്തരാവസ്ഥ ജനുവരി 30ന് പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു കൊണ്ട് പദ്ധതികളാവിഷ്കരിക്കാനും പ്രതിരോധിക്കാനുമുള്ള സമയം ലോകരാജ്യങ്ങള്ക്ക്ഡബ്ല്യൂ എച്ച് ഒ നല്കിയിരുന്നു. പശ്ചിമ യൂറോപ്പിലെ രോഗവ്യാപനം കുറഞ്ഞു തുടങ്ങി. എണ്ണം കുറവാണെങ്കിലും മധ്യ അമേരിക്കയിലെയും തെക്കേ അമേരിക്കയിലെയും ആഫ്രിക്കയിലെയും കിഴക്കന് യൂറോപ്പിലെയും പ്രവണതകള് ആശങ്കാകുലമാണ്. ഇതിനാല് നമുക്ക് ഒരുപാട് ദൂരം പോകേണ്ടതുണ്ട്. ഈ വൈറസ് വളരെകാലം നമ്മോടൊപ്പമുണ്ടാകും. പ്രതിരോധത്തില് ഒരു വീഴ്ചയും നമ്മുടെ ഭാഗത്ത് നിന്ന് ഉണ്ടാകരുതെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം കൂട്ടിച്ചേര്ത്തു.
