കൊവിഡ് 19 വ്യാപനം തടയുന്നതിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി സഊദിയില് വിമാന സര്വ്വീസുകള് നിര്ത്തിവെച്ചതോടെ സ്വദേശങ്ങളിലേക്ക് മടങ്ങാന് കഴിയാതെ സഊദിയില് കഴിയേണ്ടി വന്ന ഫിലിപ്പൈനില് നിന്നുള്ളവരുടെ മടക്ക യാത്രയാത്രയാണ് ആരംഭിച്ചത് .ജിദ്ദ കിംഗ് അബ്ദുല് അസീസ് വിമാന താവളത്തത്തില് നിന്നും സഊദി എയര്ലൈന്സിന്റെ പ്രത്യേക വിമാനത്തിലാണ് ആദ്യ മടക്ക യാത്രാ സംഘം മനിലയിലേക്ക് യാത്ര തിരിച്ചത്.
തൊഴില് കരാര് അവസാനിച്ചവര് , ഫൈനല് എക്സിറ്റില് മടങ്ങുന്നവര്ക്കുമാണ് ആദ്യ ഘട്ടത്തില് മടങ്ങാനായത്. സഊദി മാനവവിഭവ ശേഷി സാമൂഹിക വികസന മന്ത്രാലയത്തിന് പ്രത്യേക പദ്ധതി പ്രകാരമാണ് ഇവരുടെ മടക്കയാത്രയ്ക്ക് വഴി തെളിഞ്ഞത് . നേരത്തെ ബ്രിട്ടനില് നിന്നുള്ളവരും സഊദിയില് നിന്ന് മടങ്ങിയിരുന്നു. നിലവില് സഊദിയില് നിന്ന് വിദേശികള്ക്ക് സ്വദേശിങ്ങളിലേക്കുള്ള യാത്രക്ക് മാത്രമാണ് അനുമതിയുള്ളത്. തിരികെ സഊദിയിലേക്ക് ആര്ക്കും പ്രവേശനാനുമതിയില്ല.
